Choosing a greenhouse is a significant step for garden lovers, promising joy and success in the garden all year round. A greenhouse not only allows plants to be grown in optimal conditions, but also expands gardening possibilities far beyond the traditional season.
Different types of greenhouses and their advantages
There are a variety of greenhouses available, from small grow houses to large orangeries. Each type has its specific advantages. Small greenhouses are great for starting out or for gardens with limited space, while larger structures allow for more extensive plant growing and provide space for garden furniture to fully enjoy the green oasis.
Materials: glass, plastic or polycarbonate?
The choice of material is crucial to the efficiency and longevity of your greenhouse. Glass is traditional and allows a lot of light through, but can be expensive and prone to breakage. Plastic films are a cheaper option, but don't offer the same durability or aesthetics. Polycarbonate sheets are a popular choice because they are lightweight, almost unbreakable, and provide good insulation.
The ideal choice of location
The location of your greenhouse significantly affects its functionality. A sunny, sheltered spot is ideal to ensure optimal growth all year round. Also consider proximity to water sources and exposure to the sun to create the best conditions for your plants.
Optimal plant growth in the greenhouse
A greenhouse offers the unique opportunity to cultivate a variety of plants under ideal conditions. From exotic fruits to year-round vegetable harvests, the possibilities are almost endless. In this section you will learn which plants are particularly suitable for growing in a greenhouse, receive valuable care tips and an insight into effective planting plans.
Which plants are suitable for a greenhouse?
While almost all plants can benefit from the conditions in a greenhouse, there are some that thrive particularly well. Tomatoes, cucumbers and peppers love the warm, stable conditions, while exotic plants such as orchids or citrus fruits only develop their full potential in the greenhouse.
Care tips for a healthy greenhouse
Regular maintenance is crucial to the success of your greenhouse. This includes controlling humidity and temperature, regular ventilation, and protection from pests and diseases. A well-thought-out irrigation system can work wonders and significantly reduce the amount of maintenance required.
Seasonal planting schedules for maximum yields
Planning your plantings in accordance with the seasons is the key to a productive greenhouse. Start sowing spring vegetables early in the year and rely on heat-loving plants in summer. In the fall and winter, with proper selection and care, you can continue to harvest fresh vegetables.
Maintenance and care: This is how your greenhouse stays in top condition
A well-maintained greenhouse is the basis for healthy plants and bountiful harvests. Regular maintenance and cleaning are important not only for aesthetics, but also for disease and pest prevention. Learn how to effectively clean your greenhouse, combat pests and optimize the climate inside.
Cleaning and maintenance
Regular cleaning of glass or polycarbonate panels ensures maximum light transmission and prevents the accumulation of algae and dirt. Be sure to also clean the inside of the greenhouse, including the shelves and planters, to keep pests and diseases away.
Pest control in the greenhouse
Pests can quickly become a major problem in a greenhouse. Preventative measures such as introducing beneficial insects or regularly checking plants for infestation are crucial. When an infestation occurs, biological pesticides help solve the problem without harming the plants or the environment.
Optimization of the climate
A balanced climate is essential for the well-being of your plants. Use thermostats, automatic window openers and shade nets to keep temperature and humidity within ideal ranges. Good ventilation also prevents the formation of condensation and protects against fungal diseases.
Having a greenhouse in your own garden is a dream for many people. Not only does it expand gardening possibilities, but it also allows plants to be grown that would otherwise not thrive in the region. Choosing the right greenhouse, carefully planning the site, and properly caring for the plants and the structure itself are critical to success. With a little planning and care, you can create a productive and beautiful greenhouse that you and your family will enjoy.

Good and large greenhouse for the price
Assembly instructions in color or online link, email in PDF would be good. This is very detailed, but you should think about whether the pictures are printed in color so that you can show the rails better. We had to rebuild a few because the order didn't fit. We also ordered more brackets. There were two of us and it took a good 2 days until everything was up and running.
